In a gold mine in southwestern Mali, 13 miners, including women and three children, died following a flood in part of the mine, according to the National Union of Gold Miners and Refineries of Mali (UCROM). The accident occurred near the village of Danga in the Kangaba district when a reservoir of dirty water flooded the tunnel where the miners were searching for gold.
