Chaos in Belgrade: GSP Pulls Trams and Trolleybuses Amid Student Blockades!

Belgrade is in total traffic chaos today! The city transport company GSP has pulled all trams and trolleybuses into garages, while buses are running on altered routes due to student protests blocking key city streets. King Alexander Boulevard, Ustanička Street, Trosarona Rina Banjica, and the Karađorđe Park area are just some of the locations where traffic is severely disrupted or completely stopped. Students have decided to express their anger through blockades of faculties and streets, and citizens are divided — some support them, others desperately try to get to work or home.

GSP has implemented emergency measures: trams and trolleybuses are withdrawn, and buses operate on changed routes. Night transport is practically canceled, leaving many citizens without public transport, causing additional anger and frustration. No public announcements were made about these measures, leaving many stranded without solutions to get home.

Police are on the scene, but clashes with demonstrators continue, and blockades have spread to even more intersections. While authorities claim the situation is under control, the streets of Belgrade look like they are on the brink of a total traffic collapse. Is this the start of something bigger or just another episode in the endless conflict between the government and dissatisfied youth?

Meanwhile, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić has commented on the events, but his words have not calmed either citizens or students. Will the situation ease, or will Belgrade remain trapped in this chaos? One thing is certain — such scenes have not been seen in the capital for a long time, and the consequences will be felt for a long time.

If you got stuck in traffic today or witnessed these events, drop a comment and share your experience. Are the students right, or is this too much? Who is to blame for the chaos? Let’s have some fun arguing in the comments because you don’t see this every day!
