Chaos in Belgrade: Roadworks on Vojislava Ilića and Cvetanova Ćuprija Shake Up Public Transport!

Belgraders, brace yourselves for total public transport chaos! From July 5 to 10, Vojislava Ilića Street will turn into a construction battlefield that will mess up your daily routine. The right lane heading towards the city will be closed, and the left lane will become two-way traffic. Forget about turning onto Ustanička Street towards Autokomanda and the “Konjarnik” terminus if you’re coming from the Medaković neighborhood. Yes, you read that right — a full-on traffic nightmare!

But wait, there’s more! From July 4 to 12, Cvetanova Ćuprija Street in Zvezdara will also experience a traffic earthquake. Sewer construction works will close part of the road, and bus line 20 will run a shortened route between the “Mirijevo 3” and “Medaković 3” termini. Even worse, one bus line will be temporarily canceled!

Just imagine how many people will be affected by these changes! The works are necessary, but why now? And why in two neighboring parts of the city? Did anyone even think about the passengers?

Expect traffic jams, delays, and maximum frustration. If you thought Belgrade’s public transport was already perfect, think again! These changes will force you to plan your trips hours in advance or get ready to walk.

While city officials claim the works are essential to improve infrastructure, passengers wonder — is this an improvement or just another reason to be annoyed?

If you’ve already been stuck in traffic or had to change your route, share your story! Who knows, maybe together we’ll find a way to survive this transport chaos with a smile. Or at least with a joke at the city administration’s expense. Because if we can’t change them, we might as well laugh at ourselves, right?
