Brutal Attack in Zagreb: Moroccan Migrant Strikes Policewoman, Opposition Demands Immediate Deportation!
Zagreb is shaken! At a bus station, an incident occurred that would cause a political earthquake in any normal country. A Moroccan citizen, who had already been deported from Germany and Denmark for criminal offenses, brutally attacked a Croatian policewoman while she was trying to identify him.
He punched her in the head, then slammed her head against the wall multiple times until she fell. If it weren’t for a cleaner who appeared at the right moment, the outcome could have been tragic. The attacker then tried to flee but was soon caught, resisting arrest and attempting to escape again.
Opposition MP Nikola Grmoja can’t believe how someone with such a criminal record even has the right to asylum in Croatia. He questions who allowed such people to be deported specifically to Croatia and how many more such “Moroccans” are currently in the country.
Grmoja demands the immediate deportation of the perpetrator, the revocation of asylum status for all persons currently in Croatia, and the suspension of deportation flights from Germany, Austria, and Switzerland to Croatia, as these countries clearly do not want to accept such people.
Croatia is not a dumping ground for criminals and terrorists, and it must never become one. The opposition will strongly oppose the policies of Andrej Plenković’s government that allow this.
The Croatian Ministry of the Interior announced it will initiate proceedings to revoke the international protection status of this migrant and that forced removal from the country will follow.
This case raises many questions about citizen safety, justice for the police, and asylum policy in Croatia. How many more such cases need to happen before something changes? Will the government finally stand with its citizens or keep burying its head in the sand?
If you have thoughts on this case or a similar example, feel free to drop a comment. Isn’t it time we seriously tackled this problem?
