Vučić Opens Highway to Požega: 67 Years in the Making, Serbian Roads Revolution Begins!

Finally, it happened! After an unbelievable 67 years of waiting, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić announced that on Sunday at 12 PM, the last section of the highway from Pakovraće to Požega, 19.5 kilometers long, will be opened. Yes, you read that right — 67 years! It took that long for Serbia to get this part of the highway, which, according to Vučić, will make the journey from Belgrade to Zlatibor safer and faster.

Vučić proudly stated that Serbia has built more highways in the last 13 years than in the previous 67 years combined. That’s how much the country is trying to improve its infrastructure! In total, over 800 kilometers of highways have been built, with about 600 kilometers constructed in the last 13 years alone.

But it’s not just about highways. Vučić also announced the arrival of a major German investor in Paraćin, which means new jobs and economic growth. Additionally, a modern factory of the German PWO group was opened in Čačak, which will soon employ hundreds of workers. All this goes hand in hand with infrastructure projects like the Miloš Veliki highway.

For drivers in Serbia, this means safer and faster travel, but also new fuel prices that will take effect from July 11. Vučić emphasized that these projects will save lives and show how much Serbia wants to continue developing.

Are you ready to drive on the new highway and finally forget about endless hours on old, narrow, and dangerous roads? Or will you keep complaining that nothing is right? Come on, drop a comment, let’s see who’s for and who’s against this highway revolution!

In any case, Serbia is changing, and fast. What about you? Still waiting or already heading to Požega on the new highway?
