Knežević Won’t Give Up an Inch of Zeta Land: Tycoons and Podgorica in the Crosshairs!

Imagine this – while Montenegro talks about decentralization and justice, one man, DNPA MP Milan Knežević, raises his voice and says: “We won’t give up an inch of Zeta land!” And not just any land, but the one that, according to him, Podgorica is trying to claim, while tycoons already have their eyes on parcels belonging to the Zeta municipality.

At a press conference in the Parliament, Knežević made it clear that the border delimitation between Zeta and Podgorica is stalled due to deliberate obstruction. “The part of the land that indisputably belongs to Zeta cannot be a blind alley of Podgorica!” he said, emphasizing that the industrial and service zone around Kapa is a key point of dispute.

But that’s not all! Knežević claims that the current Podgorica authorities do not allow Zeta to manage its natural resources – the airport, the shore of Lake Skadar, the Bolje Sestre water source, plantations, and concession areas. If decentralization takes hold, Zeta will demand that the income from the Skadar Lake National Park goes to them, not the state.

The president of the Zeta municipality, Mihailo Asanović, adds that three years since the municipality’s establishment, Zeta has not received a single square meter of land, even though they are entitled to 15% of the property. “This situation suits Podgorica,” he says.

To make matters worse, Knežević points out that the youth center in Zeta cannot be painted without the consent of the Podgorica Assembly, which is yet another proof of how much Zeta is held hostage and subordinated.

This is not just a local problem – it is a fight for justice, for territory, for the future of Zeta. Will the state allow its resources to be parceled out to tycoons and big city centers? Or will Zeta finally get what it deserves?

If you have an opinion on this land drama, drop a comment below – let’s see who’s for Zeta and who’s for Podgorica and the tycoons!
