Dinamo in Chaos: Player Exodus, Expensive Contracts, and the Mysterious Future of Marko Bulat

Dinamo is in total chaos this summer! A staggering 15 players have left Maksimir, including long-time captains and key players like Bruno Petković, Marko Pjaca, Martin Baturina, Arijan Ademi, Petar Sučić, and Stefan Ristovski. But that’s not all – Zvonimir Boban isn’t stopping; he’s continuing to clear out the locker room of players with sky-high contracts who don’t justify their salaries. One of those players is Marko Bulat, a 23-year-old midfielder whose future at Dinamo is hanging by a thread.

Bulat arrived at Dinamo from Šibenik in the winter of 2020 as one of the most talented young midfielders, bought for a whopping €2.2 million. He immediately got a fat paycheck, around €300,000 per year. While he impressed with his set pieces and became crucial for free kicks and corners, injuries and inconsistency kept him from becoming a regular starter. In his first season, he played only 15 matches, and 21 in the next. His highlight was a beautiful free-kick goal against AEK in Champions League qualifiers, but soon after, he was loaned to Belgian club Standard, where things went downhill – only 3 starts in 17 matches, and the club didn’t exercise the buy option.

Now Bulat is back at Dinamo, but it’s hard to see him getting significant playing time as the club has strengthened its midfield with Gonzalo Villar, Marko Soldo, Robert Mudražija, Dejan Ljubičić, and Josip Mišić. Bulat has several offers, including from the Middle East, but he wants to stay in Europe where the developmental challenge is stronger. The catch? It’s tough to find a club in the Croatian league or similar that can match Dinamo’s salary offer, and he’s in no rush to go East, even though Dinamo could get a transfer fee.

A solution must be found because Bulat doesn’t want to waste another season, and his contract runs until June 2025. Dinamo is in a pickle – on one hand, they need to offload players with bloated wages who don’t contribute; on the other, talented players like Bulat are stuck in limbo. Fans have forgotten that Dinamo is still working on his transfer, but the question is when this saga will end.

Think this is just another boring football story? Think again! This is a drama filled with real money, careers, and huge expectations. Who will come out on top? Dinamo, Bulat, or someone else? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s got the wildest conspiracy theory or the craziest idea to save the day!
