Hell on the Sidewalk Outside the Law Faculty!
Lawyer Luka Vodinelić experienced true torture at the hands of the police on the night between Wednesday and Thursday, suffering multiple fractures and serious injuries. Yes, you read that right – a lawyer, a man of the law, was brutally beaten on the street, all in front of citizens and colleagues.
How did it happen?
It all took place on King Alexander Boulevard, next to the Law Faculty. Luka and a few others were standing on the sidewalk when suddenly a police brigade arrived with a large number of armored vehicles and officers. They headed towards the Vuk monument, and then about thirty plainclothes individuals appeared, who started knocking people to the ground without any warning.
Luka saw a boy fall, and then he himself was knocked down. There was no warning, just brutal violence. One of the attackers wore a white shirt with no insignia, a black cap, and olive-green pants. Luka believes this man pushed him down, breaking his collarbone.
Violence Without Limits
After falling, police officers pressed him against the glass of a bus stop and handcuffed him with metal cuffs. He was tied together with two other young men, one of whom was slapped three times just for turning around. Two policewomen brutally attacked a student from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts, pulling her out of bushes, pulling her hair, and pressing her head against a metal bench. Yes, the policewomen were even more brutal than their male colleagues!
No Explanation Given
Luka and others were not heard or informed of the reasons for their arrest. They were not given any tickets or documents. Medical help was only provided after several hours, despite serious injuries. They were taken to the Military Medical Academy, where fractures of the collarbone, ribs, bruises, and abrasions were confirmed.
Witnesses and Reactions
Judge Radmila Dičić, journalist Vuk Cvijić, and professor Biljana Stojković appeared at the scene and witnessed the brutal police conduct. About 23 people were arrested in total, including two minors.
What is Happening to Our Police?
Such behavior does not resemble regular police but rather a wild gang. Lawyer Luka Vodinelić and other citizens wonder where justice is and why the police act as if they are above the law. Is this the new standard in Serbia? Will anyone be held accountable for this brutality?
Conclusion
This is not just a story about one lawyer. This is a wake-up call for all of us. Police brutality, injustice, and irresponsibility must stop. If we don’t react now, tomorrow it could be any of us. So, what do you think? Is this just the tip of the iceberg or will things change? Drop a comment, share your thoughts, or just say – this is madness!
