Ukrainian special forces are not backing down! On Saturday, they struck the Russian military airfield Borisoglebsk in the Voronezh region, destroying a storage of glide bombs and even a training aircraft. Yes, you read that right – the Ukrainian military claims to have hit other aircraft as well, including Su-34, Su-35, and Su-30SM jets, delivering a serious blow to Russian air power. Russian Telegram channels confirm attacks on a factory in Cheboksary where electronic warfare components are made. The governor of Voronezh region, Alexander Gusev, reported a night drone attack involving 25 drones that caused power outages but did not mention the airfield. Night drone attacks also hit other parts of Russia, including the southern Kherson region where 11 people were injured, as well as the cities of Chuhuiv and Kupiansk in eastern Ukraine, where civilians were also wounded. Russian sources claim Ukrainian drones were intercepted in the Rostov and Smolensk regions, but the fact remains – the war is being fought deep inside Russian territory.
But while drones clash with Russian targets, horrifying stories from captivity emerge. Andriy Pereverzev, a former Ukrainian prisoner of war, reveals the hell he endured. Russian soldiers branded the words “Glory to Russia” on his stomach! Yes, you read that right – torture included electric shocks through old Soviet phones, where electricity was applied directly to open wounds and even to the genitals! The method known as “calling Putin” is used to extract information, and Andriy says it was so painful he lost consciousness. Additionally, prisoners were forced to sing the Russian anthem, and those who didn’t know the words were brutally beaten. After being exchanged, Andriy returned home 15 kilograms lighter, and his nine-year-old daughter did not recognize him.
Meanwhile, political leaders are dealing with the protection of Ukraine’s skies. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and former US President Donald Trump discussed strengthening Ukraine’s air defense after massive Russian drone and missile attacks. Although the US has reduced arms shipments to Ukraine, Zelensky warns this will weaken the country’s defense capabilities. Germany is already negotiating to purchase Patriot missile systems to compensate for this loss. Trump also spoke with Putin but without progress toward ending the war.
The war in Ukraine continues with increasingly brutal clashes, and civilian casualties are rising. Ukraine does not relent in striking Russian infrastructure, while Russia continues attacks on Ukrainian cities. All this unfolds as the world watches and comments – and you? Who is the real aggressor here, and who is the victim? How far will this game of drones and pain go? Drop a comment, share your thoughts – because this is not just a war, it’s hell on earth!
