Red Star Belgrade is on the verge of signing yet another reinforcement this summer – defensive midfielder Mahmud Bajo from Dunajská Streda. The transfer is valued at around 1 million euros, with Bajo’s annual salary set at approximately 300,000 euros. Although primarily a midfielder, Bajo is known for his defensive traits, which should strengthen the Red and Whites’ midfield. This will be Red Star’s fifth signing this summer transfer window, following the arrivals of Veljković, Rodrigo, Mateus, and Tiknizjan.
Bajo has come through the youth ranks of Gambia and has already earned six caps for his national team. Red Star is gearing up for the Champions League qualifiers starting on July 22 or 23, where they will face the winner of the two-legged tie between Vikingur from the Faroe Islands and Lincoln Red Imps from Gibraltar.
This move has sparked mixed reactions among fans and experts alike. Is Bajo the right choice for Red Star? Will his defensive style bring stability to the team, or will he be just another unknown signing that fails to meet expectations? Football transfers are always a gamble, but with their fifth signing this summer, Red Star is showing serious intent to compete on the European stage.
If you think this is the end, wait to see how Bajo fits into the squad and whether he justifies the investment. What do you think? Is this the move that will lead Red Star to new victories, or just another transfer quickly forgotten? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s optimistic and who’s skeptical!
