Bentley, the brand known for luxury without limits, is now toying with something that sounds like a dream or a nightmare – a luxury pickup truck! Christophe Georges, a Bentley board member, revealed that there are no real limits when it comes to vehicle types for them. They can design “something cool, beautiful, and interesting,” but so far, there are no orders or real demand. Remember, luxury pickups have mostly been flops in the past – the Lincoln Blackwood, a luxury Ford F150, failed spectacularly in the early 2000s, and Mercedes’ X-Class, a fancier version of the Nissan Navara, lasted only three years. But today, as the lines between vehicle categories blur and exclusivity trumps practicality, maybe it’s only a matter of time before someone wants a Bentley pickup with wooden trims and a Bentayga interior for vineyard strolls or polo matches. And don’t forget, back in 2017, a unique Bentley Decadence pickup based on the Flying Spur sedan was sold in the UK, with a conversion price around £100,000. So, if you have a wild imagination and a deep pocket, Bentley is ready to make your dream pickup. Just say how much you’re willing to pay!
