Minister Paunović Wants to Hear the Common Man’s Problems: Local Governments Under the Microscope!

Minister of State Administration and Local Self-Government Snežana Paunović has decided to stop hiding behind bureaucratic walls and finally listen to what troubles the common man. Yes, you read that right! She called a meeting with representatives of four administrative districts in Novi Sad – West Bačka, North Bačka, Srem, and South Bačka. The goal? To hear the problems of citizens and see how to solve them.

Short Notice, Big Expectations

Despite the short notice, Paunović managed to gather all the key people. The district chiefs are, as she says, “a crucial link between local governments and the ministry.” Paunović emphasized that the problems are mostly technical but that people have been suffering for the last eight months. Is that enough to make a difference?

What About the Laws?

The minister announced changes to certain legal regulations that need to be adapted to modern times. She mentioned a unified voter list, civil registries, and the law on civil servants. She also stressed the need to improve working conditions and rationally assess problems, including low personal incomes and a shortage of skilled personnel.

Local Governments in Focus

The head of the South Bačka district, Milan Novaković, said the meeting was organized to improve work and citizen satisfaction. He stressed the importance of direct communication between local governments and the ministry. A constructive meeting and continued coordination are expected.

Is This the Start of Change or Just Another Meeting?

We all know how slow bureaucracy is and how often meetings remain just words. But let’s be optimistic – maybe this time Minister Paunović and her team will truly hear the voice of the common man and do something concrete. Or we’ll watch problems persist and people suffer again.

If you have your own problem or experience with local government, feel free to share it in the comments. Maybe your story will be the one to spark real change!

Don’t be surprised if the next meeting is in six months and the problems are still there. But who knows? Maybe this is the start of a new era in local politics.
