Nikola Topić Returns to the Court: NBA Talent Who Survived a Severe Knee Injury Now Impressing Americans

After several years off due to a severe knee injury, Nikola Topić has finally returned to the court—and in style! The young Serbian basketball star played two games for Oklahoma in the NBA Summer League and showed Americans why his talent demands attention. Even though his shooting wasn’t on point, Topić managed to score double digits and was one of the key players in his team’s victory over Philadelphia.

“It feels great to be back after so much time off the court, but I’m still getting used to it,” Nikola admitted honestly after the game. Despite receiving praise from all sides, he remained self-critical and said there was a lot he wasn’t happy with. “I’ll work on everything to get better. The most important thing is to get into the rhythm of the game, play consecutive matches, and get back into real form,” he added.

Nikola is one of the rare Serbs who can boast an NBA title, even though he didn’t spend much time on the court. “It was strange but amazing to be with the guys and watch them win the title,” he said. His recovery wasn’t easy, but he had support from everyone around him, especially conversations with Chet Holmgren, who went through a similar situation.

What can we expect from Topić in the future? “I can add, organize the game, and do a lot of things. You’ll see…” the young star promised. It’s clear Nikola is ready to come back and prove his career is just beginning.

If you thought coming back from a serious injury was easy, think again! Topić proves that persistence and hard work are the keys to success. So, what do you think—will this young Serbian shine in the NBA, or will injuries stop him again? Drop your thoughts, let’s see who’s optimistic and who’s skeptical!
