Black Statistics: 30 Two Wheeler Riders Dead Since Start of the Year!

Brace yourselves for some shocking stats that will make you think twice before hopping on a motorcycle or moped! Since the start of this year, a staggering 30 two-wheeler riders have lost their lives on Serbian roads. Yes, thirty! Every 13th fatality on the road is a motorcyclist or moped rider. Is this just bad luck or a total traffic nightmare? Milan Srdić from the Traffic Safety Agency doesn’t mince words: two-wheeler riders are ignoring all warnings and pleas. Summer days with scorching heat make things even riskier, yet riders seem clueless about the importance of protective gear, especially helmets that, according to Srdić, often don’t fit properly.

Weather conditions are another enemy on the road — storms and heatwaves affect safety, but riders fail to adjust their speed and behavior accordingly. The agency launched the “Drive Rested” campaign because many start their journeys tired and without breaks — a recipe for disaster. The advice is clear: take a break every two hours! Also, vehicle technical checks are crucial — brakes, fluids, and everything else should be inspected before hitting the road.

This grim statistic is a wake-up call for all of us. Will we finally get that safety comes first, or will we keep counting the dead? Got a tip or story? Drop a comment — maybe your words will save a life!
