Albania: The Tourist Paradise with Shocking Prices and Beaches Like the European Maldives

Imagine this: while everyone complains about expensive vacations, our people are flocking to Albania in droves! Yes, you read that right. Albania, a country many never considered, is now the hottest destination for Serbian tourists. Why? First, you can get there by bus or your own car, so no need to break the bank on plane tickets. The drive takes about seven hours, and if you’re heading to the southern part like Saranda or Ksamil, expect around 11 hours on the road. But trust us, it’s worth it! Ksamil is crowned the most popular spot on the Albanian Riviera, and some even call it the European Maldives. Crystal-clear waters, stunning sandy beaches, and a coastline packed with restaurants and tropical bars – sounds like a dream, right?

But here’s the real shocker: the prices! On one beach just 15 kilometers from Durrës, a coffee costs only one euro, pizza four and a half euros, and a beer mug two euros! Yes, you read that right – two euros for a beer on the beach! Sunbeds go for about five euros, and accommodation for five people can be found for just 60 euros. In Velipoja, coffee is even cheaper, around 0.80 to 0.90 euros, and dinner for two with fish and wine costs about 40 to 50 euros.

The beaches vary – from sand to pebbles, with a long shallow entry into the water, perfect for families with kids. Though the trip is long, many swear this is a vacation you don’t want to miss.

Sure, some complain about wasp stings and other minor annoyances, but that’s part of the adventure! If you’re tired of pricey vacations in Greece or Turkey, maybe it’s time to give Albania a shot. Just don’t forget to bring a big smile and a spirit for exploring.

So, what about you? Have you been to Albania or planning to go? Or are you skeptical about all this? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s in and who’s out on this new tourist craze!
