27 Years of Psychological Abuse and Custody Battle: Mother Forced to Give Son to Husband
Imagine enduring 27 years of psychological abuse in your own family, where your husband and father-in-law control your life, and you barely get half an hour of peace to have coffee with colleagues. This is not a movie plot but the harsh reality of a mother from Serbia who, unable to secure a roof over her head, was forced to give custody of her eight-year-old son to her husband. And the nightmare doesn’t end there – she sees her son only 15 days a year while working the hardest jobs in Germany to support her child.
Hell in Her Own Home
She endured 27 years of psychological abuse, where she had to give money to her father-in-law, and the main decisions in the family were made by her husband, his father, and mother. She rarely could go to work and even more rarely relax with colleagues. Traditional customs were shackles, and every attempt to move to Germany with her husband ended with her leaving alone, passport and diploma in hand.
Lost Home and Fight for Son
After the divorce, she was left homeless. Her mother is ill and undergoes dialysis, and she practically ended up on the street. Her father-in-law and mother-in-law deregistered her from the address, but thanks to good people, she found temporary accommodation. She begged the director of the health center for unpaid leave, which was granted, but it was not enough.
Custody as Punishment
The custody battle has lasted three years. The mother was forced to give custody to her husband because she had nowhere to take the child. She sees her son only 15 days a year, and her husband abuses her older card and falsely portrays her as a negligent mother. She breastfed her son for five months and cared for him daily, but the system offers no support.
Message to All Mothers
This brave woman urges all mothers to be courageous and never give up. She believes there is a force that will hear their struggles and hopes that one day she will buy her own apartment so her son can live with her.
Is This Justice?
While the mother works the hardest jobs abroad and sees her child only 15 days a year, the system that should protect children and parents seems to side with abusers and those who abuse trust. Is it possible that in the 21st century, such stories are still everyday reality?
