Dr. Igor Banzić initiated an effort to honor the brave Australian women who aided Serbia during World War I. Lora Houp, the first female surgeon in Australia, traveled 18,000 kilometers to join volunteer units in Serbia, where she worked in a hospital in Kragujevac.
