Belgrade’s Transport Secretariat has decided to unleash total parking chaos in the Old Town municipality starting July 14. Forget the old zones – now there are three: purple, red, and white, with new, stricter time limits that will force you to constantly move your car or pay fines. The purple zone, formerly red, allows parking for only 30 minutes with no extensions! Yes, you read that right – half an hour! The red zone, formerly yellow, allows one hour plus an additional 30 minutes extension, but after that – move your car or get ready to pay up! The white zone, formerly green, gives you one hour with the possibility to extend for another full hour. Weekends? Don’t think you’ll get a break! Parking fees apply Monday through Saturday from 7 AM to 10 PM, and Sundays from 7 AM to 2 PM. Residents with privileged parking cards can breathe a little easier since their rules remain unchanged, but everyone else will be circling endlessly looking for a free spot.
