Thompson Concert in Zagreb: Shocking Fascist Parade Met with EU Silence

Fascism on Stage in Zagreb: The Thompson Concert That Shook Europe!

Imagine this: in the heart of Zagreb, the capital of Croatia, a concert by Marko Perković Thompson takes place. This singer openly glorifies Ustaše crimes. Yes, you read that right! A massive fascist rally, with chants of “Za dom spremni” and Ustaše symbols, gathered thousands of people—and even worse, it was supported by the Croatian state leadership.

Europe is silent, Serbia is burning with anger

While the whole region trembles at this provocation, the European Union remains silent. No words of condemnation, no comment at all. If Serbia had organized a similar event, the reaction would have been swift and harsh. Lawyer Milan Antonijević clearly states that Serbia would have received immediate warnings and sanctions. But here? Not a trace of condemnation.

Why is this dangerous?

This concert is not just a concert. It is an alarm for the entire region and Europe. Glorifying crimes and spreading messages of hatred must not become normal. Croatia, an EU member state, allows history to be revised and criminals to be glorified. Historian Srđan Graovac warns that this is a consequence of the failure to denazify after World War II.

Consequences for tourism and society

Many wonder if such events will affect the tourist season in Croatia. Will people really want to vacation in a country where fascist symbols are openly glorified? Antonijević believes there should be an official reaction and that Croatian politicians should finally clearly condemn such manifestations.

Why is the EU silent?

The European Union, proud of its anti-fascist values, seems to be turning a blind eye to this problem. Graovac believes the EU does not react to similar phenomena in other Central European and Baltic countries either. Maybe they are too busy with other crises, but that does not justify their silence.

Are you shocked by the EU’s silence in this case? Do you think the reaction would be different if Serbia organized such a concert? Or is this just another proof of double standards? Drop a comment, share your thoughts, and don’t let such things be forgotten or ignored. Because if we don’t react now, what awaits us tomorrow?

If you thought this was just another ordinary concert, you were wrong. This is a call to wake up the whole of Europe. And no, it’s not time to stay silent.
