Istanbul Burns at 50 Degrees: Heatwave Threatening Citizens’ Health!

Istanbul is burning at temperatures reaching a scorching 50 degrees Celsius on the asphalt! Yes, you read that right – while ordinary folks suffer through a hellish 38 degrees in the shade, the asphalt turns into a literal oven hitting 50 degrees. City officials and meteorologists are sounding the alarm, urging citizens to limit their time under direct sunlight, especially between 11 AM and 4 PM when the sun is at its cruelest. Elderly people, children, pregnant women, and those with chronic illnesses are at particular risk and are advised to stay in cool, shaded areas.

Meteorologists have announced that July temperatures will exceed seasonal norms by a staggering 46 degrees – absolutely insane! Nights won’t bring relief either, with temperatures hovering around 35 degrees, meaning true tropical nights ahead.

The city’s disaster department AKOM is urging people to use sunscreen, wear wide-brimmed hats and sunglasses, and drink about 2.5 liters of water daily. Forget coffee and tea—they only dehydrate you. Instead, eat juicy fruits like watermelon and melon.

If you feel nauseous, dizzy, or faint, seek medical help immediately! This is no time to mess with your health.

While Istanbul fries, northeastern parts of Turkey expect cloudy weather with showers and thunderstorms, but that won’t help those baking on the asphalt.

Is this the new normal? Are we ready for cities turning into ovens? Share your thoughts, maybe you have some cool hacks to survive this hell on earth!
