The Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade has opened a case following a post on the account “fdu blokadi” openly threatening police officers with death, even tagging the location of the Savski Venac Police Station. Is this just the tip of the iceberg or a sign of societal collapse? The case has been forwarded to the special department for high-tech crime to identify and prosecute those responsible. Threats and attacks against police officers will not be tolerated, the prosecutor’s office warns.
But wait, there’s more! At the same time, the Higher Public Prosecutor’s Office in Belgrade issued an order to identify and prosecute attackers of a vehicle near a barricade in Zemun. The incident was caught on video and shared on social media, showing a man trying to bypass a barricade with his car, only to be physically attacked by several people. The prosecutor suspects the crime of hooliganism.
