Entrance exams at Serbian universities are in total chaos! While the government promises to announce the dates next week, professors and students are locked in an open conflict threatening to destroy the education system. Patrick Drid, Dean of the Faculty of Sport and Physical Education in Novi Sad, openly criticizes deans and rectors for ignoring laws and statutes, claiming faculties are “wounded” and need urgent recovery. He emphasized that political activists and blockade organizations prevent dialogue between professors and students, leading to chaos and illegal scheduling of exams.
On the other hand, Valentina Arsić Arsenijević, a professor at the Medical Faculty in Belgrade, accuses Rector Vladan Đokić of spreading false information and calls on deans to resign to show they were not manipulated. She claims students and faculty employees have been denied a 12% salary increase, and exams are being scheduled unlawfully. According to her, blockades cause enormous damage to universities and faculties, and the Medical Faculty administration did not report the dean’s office being locked with chains.
All this happens as the state tries to restore order and announce entrance exams, but conflicts between professors, students, and university leadership only escalate. Will the education system survive this crisis, or will students lose their right to normal schooling? Clearly, the situation is far from resolved, and all involved seem to be playing political games at the expense of young people eager to learn.
If you think this is just another school drama, think again! This fight for education is a real battle for Serbia’s future. So, what do you think — who’s to blame for this mess? Drop a comment, share your story, or crack a joke about universities because, honestly, we all need a laugh in this madness!
