Brnabić: Blockaders Are History, Decent Serbia Wins!

Blockaders are history, says Ana Brnabić, the Speaker of the National Assembly of Serbia. “Blockaders no longer exist!” she declared in an interview with TV Pink, claiming that Serbia is moving towards decency and normalcy. But is this really the end of the chaos that lasted for eight months, or just another political fairy tale? Let’s break down what’s really going on.

The End of Blockades or the Start of a New Drama?

Brnabić claims that the most radical blockaders from the Faculty of Dramatic Arts (FDU) are now forced to attend physical classes because they have no online option. “You have the green light, classes have now started!” says the Speaker of the Parliament. But is this really the end of the blockades or just an illusion? The blockades lasted eight months, and citizens, according to her, were harassed for no reason.

Students and Violence – Who is the Real Winner?

Brnabić cites the example of Miloš Pavlović, a student who was physically thrown out of the dormitory, threatened and beaten, but still managed to pass an exam with one of the top professors of the blockade and received a grade of 10. “This is a symbolic indicator that Serbia has won!” she says. But is this really a victory or just another proof of how chaotic and violent the situation was?

Indictments and Investigations – Who is Responsible for the Collapse of the Canopy in Novi Sad?

Brnabić commented on the indictments related to the collapse of the canopy at the railway station in Novi Sad. She notes that those who supported the blockaders are not included, although this should be subject to investigation. Shockingly, some of the suspects held high positions in the Serbian Railways Infrastructure, including a former chairman of the assembly and an executive director. While some women are under house arrest, these men, according to Brnabić, “drink and celebrate” with the special prosecutor. Is this a real judicial system or a farce?

Genocide and Politics – Where is the Line?

Brnabić condemned the blockaders for their stance on the Srebrenica genocide. She emphasized that for Vučić it is important to clearly state that it was not genocide, but a terrible crime. She also pointed out that no one condemned the concert of Marko Perković Thompson in Zagreb, which, in her opinion, is an example of double standards.

Attacks on Journalists and Media Silence

The Speaker of the Parliament condemned the attack on the family home of Informer editor Dragan Vučićević, noting that UNS and NUNS remained silent, while ANS reacted. “If we close our eyes to such things, we will fall into a serious crisis!” warns Brnabić.

What Does This All Tell Us?

Overall, Brnabić paints a picture of Serbia as a country that has emerged from chaos, where decent and normal people win, while blockaders and their supporters are marginalized. But is it really so? Are all problems solved or just swept under the rug? And what about justice for those who suffered violence and harassment?

Conclusion

This story is far from over. While Brnabić celebrates the victory of decent Serbia, many wonder if this is just a political story for the public. The blockades may be over, but questions of justice, responsibility, and truth remain open. What about you? Do you believe Serbia really won, or is this just another episode in an endless political soap opera? Drop a comment, let’s see which side of this drama you’re on!
