Vienna Police Bust International Drug Network Linked to Balkans and North Africa!
In southern Vienna, police have smashed a dangerous criminal network attempting to move a staggering 300 kilograms of drugs! Among those arrested are three Bosnian citizens and one 46-year-old Serbian.
This was no ordinary raid — the special unit EKO Cobra intervened and arrested suspects while they were transferring drug packages from a semi-trailer truck to a smaller van. Authorities found 11 cardboard boxes of cannabis in the van and another 25 in the semi-trailer. In total, 300 kilograms of cannabis plant material and 10.2 kilograms of cannabis resin were seized, along with €21,000 in cash.
This network connects North Africa and the Balkans, and the arrested individuals are suspected of drug trafficking. The Serbian suspect was caught after intense surveillance by Vienna’s street crime task force, with the drugs valued at around one million euros.
The Austrian police thanked citizens for their cooperation and urged anyone with information about similar activities to come forward. The investigation continues, and police do not rule out further arrests.
