Croatian tennis player Mate Pavić, together with his partner Marcelo Arévalo, has made a spectacular run at this year’s Wimbledon. After Pavić and Hungarian Timea Babos advanced to the second round in mixed doubles, Pavić and Arévalo have now reached the semifinals in men’s doubles. Their dominance on the court is impressive – in the quarterfinals, they defeated the tenth seeds, Hugo Nys and Edouard Roger-Vasselin, with a score of 6-4, 6-7(2), 7-6(5) in a match lasting two hours and 33 minutes. What’s especially fascinating is that they did not lose a single service game during the match, saved only one break point, and converted one of seven break opportunities. This is Pavić’s fourth time reaching the Wimbledon semifinals, but the first time with Arévalo, and together they have already surpassed last year’s result when they reached the quarterfinals. Their opponents in the semifinals will be Australian Rinky Hijikata and Dutch David Pel, who entered the tournament as replacements. This success will help them solidify their position at the top of the ATP doubles rankings, where they currently hold the number one spot. Will they finally win the title and confirm their status as the best doubles team in the world? Wimbledon runs until July 13, and the tennis drama continues. If you love tennis and follow the achievements of our athletes, this is a story you don’t want to miss! So, what do you think – will Pavić and Arévalo clinch the trophy?
