Texas and New Mexico: Death Toll Rises, Children Among Victims
In Texas, the death toll has risen to at least 95, including 36 children, with many still missing. The hardest-hit area is Kerr County, where floods caused by the Guadalupe River overflowing led to a water level rise of seven meters in less than an hour! In New Mexico, the village of Ruidoso suffered a disaster with three fatalities, including two children. The Rio Ruidoso river rose a record six meters, with 8.9 centimeters of rain falling in just 90 minutes.
