Russian Soldiers and Systematic Rape in Ukraine: Shocking Testimonies and Society’s Silence

Imagine the hell unfolding right before our eyes, yet everyone stays silent! Thousands of Ukrainian women have been raped by Russian soldiers, but social stigma and a deeply conservative society keep many from speaking out. Prosecutors have registered dozens of sexual violence cases since the invasion began in February 2022, including 16 minors. But the real number is likely much higher — support groups estimate that nearly every village occupied by Russian forces has seen at least one such crime.

Horrifying stories come from Bucha, Kherson, and other occupied areas. Halina, 62, was forced to strip naked in the snow and was abused with a Kalashnikov. Olga listened to her son being tortured while she was threatened with rape. Tetiana witnessed her husband being killed and was then raped herself. A 77-year-old teacher was brutally beaten and raped. These are not isolated incidents — this is a systematic machine of evil.

Organizations like SEMA Ukraine provide psychological, medical, and legal aid to victims, but many women remain silent, isolated, and depressed. Some cases are so horrific they are hard to even speak about. The UN has recorded dozens of cases but has not detailed human rights violations by Ukrainian forces, while Russian crimes are systematically investigated.

This silence and injustice are unacceptable! Russia must be put on the UN’s shame list for these crimes. And the world? The world must not look away. If you have something to say or think this is too terrible to be true, drop a comment and share your thoughts. We won’t stay silent while these things happen!
