Mufti Jusufspahić in Mauritania: Peace and Cooperation on the Islamic Path
Muhamed Hamdi Jusufspahić, the Mufti of the Islamic Community of Serbia and president of its Supreme Assembly, recently visited Mauritania. There, he held important talks with Islamic leaders, including Sheikh Saleh, the president of the Mauritanian Scholars Association.
This visit was far from a mere formality. Jusufspahić brought a message of peace and a sincere desire for cooperation between the Islamic Community of Serbia and Mauritanian religious institutions. The goal? To build bridges of understanding and joint work that will benefit both Serbia and Mauritania.
“I came here with a message of peace and a sincere wish for cooperation between the two institutions and two countries. God willing, we will do deeds that will honor us on Judgment Day before the Almighty Allah,” Jusufspahić said after the meetings.
On the other hand, Sheikh Saleh emphasized that the visit was an opportunity to exchange views and discuss future cooperation, especially in areas that can strengthen ties between the Muslim communities of Serbia and Mauritania.
This initiative comes at a time when interreligious dialogue and international cooperation are more important than ever. Cooperation between the two countries through Islamic institutions can bring not only religious but also cultural and educational exchange, which is of great significance for both sides.
In a world full of conflicts and misunderstandings, such messages of peace and unity are beacons of hope. Will this cooperation bear fruit? Only time will tell, but one thing is clear – Mufti Jusufspahić and Mauritanian leaders have shown that dialogue is possible and necessary.
