Iran Nuclear Talks: Tehran Takes Its Time, US Under Pressure

Iran nuclear talks are back in the spotlight, but don’t expect any rush! Abbas Arakchi, Iran’s foreign minister, made it crystal clear: Tehran is weighing all options and is in no hurry to return to the negotiating table. While the US pushes for a quick fix, Iran remains skeptical due to Washington’s military backing of Israel’s attacks on Iran. Arakchi accused the US of creating misunderstandings and said Iran will only engage in talks if it’s sure such behavior won’t happen again. “The doors of diplomacy are never closed,” he said, but made it clear that Iran will turn to military options if negotiations fail. US Middle East envoy Steve Vitkof plans to meet Arakchi next week to try to restart talks on Iran’s nuclear program. But tensions are high: US airstrikes on Iranian nuclear sites haven’t wiped them out, and leaked intelligence reports reveal damage was limited thanks to intercepted Iranian communications. Iran, meanwhile, insists it will decisively continue its nuclear program regardless of pressure. Meanwhile, an Israeli F-15 fighter jet suffered a fuel tank malfunction while approaching Tehran during a 12-day war, adding fuel to the fire. So, while the world trembles at the prospect of conflict, Tehran says: “We’re not rushing, but we’re not out of options.” What do you think — will diplomacy win or are we headed for another war? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s team peace and who’s team chaos!
