Protests and Blockades Across Serbia: Fight for Justice or Chaos in the Streets?

Serbia is on fire with protests! Multiple cities across the country witnessed blockades and protest marches today, clearly showing that the people are not backing down. Citizens of Užice declared, “See you tomorrow, Serbia!” and announced a large gathering starting at 4 PM.

The evening brought intense scenes — from the Faculty of Law in Belgrade, through Novi Sad, Nova Pazova, to Užice and Kragujevac. Lawyer Božo Prelević at the protest in Nova Pazova didn’t hold back: “We must fight for our own state! Every day, brilliant kids — winners in physics and math — are pulled out of prison, while some policemen beat them! Who are these people? No one has ever worn a uniform to beat their own future!”

Professor Vladimir Pavićević addressed the crowd: “We toppled Milo Đukanović, we will strip Vučić of power!” Professor Senka Jankov added: “The smart no longer yields, they organize. Unqualified cadres and party stooges with criminal reputations no longer scare us!”

In Novi Sad, cyclists protested by visiting the RTV Mišeluk building, shouting “Pump it up!”. Students and citizens blocked intersections, rattling noisemakers and blowing whistles, with war veterans standing alongside them.

The humanitarian side of the protests was not forgotten — organizers called for the “Steps of Solidarity” action in the nearby village of Desimirovac, whose homes were destroyed in a fire caused by EPS negligence. “Tragedy is not fate, but a consequence of negligence,” the organizers said.

Užice residents held a rally supporting nine arrested citizens, chanting “Free them all!”. The parents of detained student Pavle Cicvarić sent a letter to the European Union claiming Serbia has political prisoners today.

The protests have been ongoing for eight months, and tensions are not easing. Citizens are determined to fight for justice and freedom, while the authorities continue to ignore their demands.

If you think this is just another protest, think again. This is a people who said “Enough!” and have no plans to stop. What do you think — is this the beginning of the end or just another chaos in the streets? Share your thoughts, maybe your word can change the course of events!
