Thought summer vacations meant relaxation? Think again! On the E75 highway heading towards Niš, near Begaljičko Hill, it’s absolute hell. Roadworks on the pavement are turning driving into a nightmare. Overtaking lanes are closed, and traffic is diverted onto the emergency lane and the opposite direction lane. The result? Kilometer-long traffic jams with vehicles standing still for hours!
Jovica Mitić from AMSS warns that traffic is slow and difficult, with jams worsened by summer holidays and increased transit of foreign nationals passing through Serbia to summer destinations. JP “Putevi Srbije” confirmed the works are necessary but didn’t anticipate the chaos.
To make matters worse, the jams have lasted for days, and drivers wonder when they’ll be able to travel normally. Queues stretch from the Vrčin interchange to Mali Požarevac, with vehicles completely stopped, sparking outrage and frustration among many.
This isn’t just a headache for drivers but a blow to the economy and tourism, as Serbia turns into a land of traffic jams and frustration. Will the authorities finally realize the need for better planning and informing citizens? Or will we keep suffering this traffic chaos?
If you’re already stuck in this jam, know you’re not alone — share your stories, maybe we can at least laugh a little in this madness!
