Drama in Čačak: Father and Three Children Seriously Injured on Pedestrian Crossing!
In the wider center of Čačak, on Nemanjina Street, a shocking traffic accident occurred that left everyone stunned. A pickup truck driver failed to see a father crossing the street with his three small children on a pedestrian crossing and hit them! Yes, you read that right – on a pedestrian crossing, the place that should be the safest for pedestrians!
An eyewitness told RINA about the horrifying scene: “It was like he didn’t see them at all, he practically scattered them across the street. One child’s scooter ended up under the wheels, and the windshield glass shattered from the impact.”
Fortunately, although the injuries were serious, the father and the three children are not in life-threatening condition. They were quickly transported by ambulance to the General Hospital in Čačak, where they were admitted to the emergency department. After initial treatment and diagnostics, all were released for home care.
The police conducted an on-site investigation, and the case is under the supervision of the relevant authorities. This accident raises serious questions about pedestrian safety in urban areas and how much drivers actually respect traffic rules, especially in places meant for the most vulnerable – children.
