This morning, a small group of blockaders gathered at the entrance of the Novi Sad Fair, where the Law Faculty is holding its exam period. Police were stationed at the entrance, but that didn’t stop the blockaders from whistling and disrupting their fellow students trying to take exams. The Law Faculty adopted a make-up teaching plan on April 17, and after student consultations, a new plan with a different exam schedule was approved on April 29 to give students enough time to prepare. However, the blockades have escalated into irrational terror, says Professor Milan Petričković from the Faculty of Political Sciences, calling them outright savagery and illegal acts. He emphasizes that blocking the exam period is not only illegal but also immoral towards the academic community. This situation shows the expression of helplessness and senselessness of the blockaders’ methods, which from the start had a different agenda than studying. Police and faculty authorities remain firm that they will decisively apply legal measures against the violent protesters. If you think this is just another student protest, think again — this is a war against education and the future of young people! So, what do you think about these blockades? Are the students heroes or hooligans? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s on which side of this drama!
