Belgrade is in shock over the disappearance of Ioana Konstantin, a Romanian citizen last seen on July 1 after leaving a hotel in the city center. Her family and fiancé, Teodor, are desperately searching for her, and the case has been reported to the Romanian embassy, police in Serbia and Romania, and even Interpol. It all started when Ioana paid a bill at a well-known Belgrade restaurant and withdrew 50 euros from an ATM, then vanished without a trace.
Teodor claims Ioana did not have money to leave Serbia as she was using his credit card and was regularly in contact with him via email and apps. The family has searched monasteries, hospitals, including the psychiatric hospital “Laza Lazarević,” but with no success. Worst fears are growing as no one has any information about her whereabouts.
