Boat Fire Near Zemun: Two Seriously Injured, Emergency Services Stretched to the Limit

Hell on the Water Near Zemun!

Last night around 9:17 PM, a boat caught fire at Zemun Quay, leaving two people with serious burns. A man around 40 years old suffered severe burns, while a woman of the same age had somewhat lighter injuries. Emergency services acted fast, rushing both to the Plastic Surgery Clinic at the Clinical Center of Serbia.

But wait, there’s more chaos! The night was packed with incidents. Four traffic accidents happened, resulting in four people with minor injuries. The emergency teams were also busy helping asthmatics, psychiatric patients, hypertensive and cardiology patients.

Even worse, there were multiple interventions involving injured people under the influence of alcohol. After first aid, they were taken to the toxicology department at VMA for detox. The night was long and exhausting for 24 emergency teams who responded a total of 43 times, 19 of which were in public places.

What’s going on with safety on the water and streets?

The boat fire isn’t just a tragic accident — it’s a wake-up call for better control and prevention. Are boats on rivers and lakes properly maintained? Are people educated enough about safety? And what about the traffic accidents happening almost every night?

Emergency services are stretched to the limit, and citizens are paying the price for negligence and poor organization. Next time you wonder why the ambulance is late, remember how overloaded their teams are — from fires on the water to drunk driving and chronic illnesses.

The bottom line?

This night in Belgrade was like a horror movie, but sadly without a script or a happy ending. Two people with serious burns, four traffic accidents, dozens of interventions — all signs that it’s time for serious change.

What about you? Ever seen anything like this? Got a hilarious comment on how Belgrade turns into chaos at night? Drop a joke or theory in the comments — let’s laugh a little while we wait for things to get better!

Numbers that sting:

  • 2 people with severe and minor burns
  • 4 traffic accidents with 4 minor injuries
  • 24 emergency teams
  • 43 total interventions
  • 19 interventions in public places

Belgrade, it’s time to wake up and work on safety — on the water and on the streets!
