Belgrade Emergency Services: A Night Full of Drama, Explosions, and Injuries

Think the night in Belgrade is boring? Think again! Last night, the Emergency Services were slammed with calls, from traffic accidents to a gas bottle explosion in a restaurant. Two cyclists collided with a vehicle on Batajnički Road around 10:50 PM and were rushed to the Emergency Center with injuries. As if that wasn’t enough, another traffic accident happened on Viscaronnjička Street around 10 PM involving a pregnant woman, who was taken for precautionary diagnostics. Then, a gas bottle exploded in a restaurant on Cvijićeva Street, injuring a 50-year-old woman who was taken to KBC Zvezdara. At 11:18 PM on Zrenjaninski Road near the turn to Kovilovo, a girl stabbed a young man in the thigh, and he was also taken to the same clinic. The Emergency Services had 24 teams on duty and responded 28 times in public places last night. Most calls came from psychiatric patients, chronic illness sufferers, hypertensives, asthmatics, and cardiology patients. There were also several interventions for minor injuries and intoxicated individuals taken to VMA toxicology for detox. Belgrade doesn’t sleep at night, and neither does the Emergency Service as it battles the city’s chaos. Think this is just another boring night? Think again! Got a crazy emergency story?
