Belgrade experienced a true musical explosion last night! The concert “Flamenco Show Arome Juga” featuring renowned pianist Diego Valdivia and his seven-member group from Cadiz brought Mediterranean tones and the fiery passion of southern Spain straight to the heart of Serbia. The audience enjoyed classical and contemporary flamenco compositions, including renditions of famous film themes like “Game of Thrones” and “Interstellar.” The Spanish Ambassador to Serbia, Juan José Sans Aparicio, reminded that flamenco has been recognized as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO since 2010. Although born in Andalusia, flamenco is now universal and performed worldwide, including in Serbia.
The stage was graced by virtuoso musicians and dancers, with a special highlight being the thirteen-year-old cellist Dora Trifu. The concert was organized by the international opera foundation Strangefear, with support from the Spanish Embassy in Serbia and other institutions. The atmosphere was electric, and the thunderous applause proved flamenco has won the hearts of Belgrade’s audience. If you missed this fiery night, don’t let it slip by next time — flamenco is not just music, it’s a passion you feel in your bones!
So, what do you think? Is Belgrade ready to dance to the flamenco beat? Or are we still stuck in the cold northern rhythms? Drop your thoughts, or better yet, share your best flamenco dance fail — we all need a laugh!
