Ministry of Finance Exposes False Claims About Expo Belgrade Law

Explosion of Lies About the Expo Belgrade Law! Ministry of Finance Strikes Back at False Claims!

Have you heard the latest drama about the law regulating the construction of buildings for the specialized international exhibition Expo Belgrade? The Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Serbia has decided to put an end to the falsehoods spreading in public, propagated by some political parties and citizen associations. And these are not just any lies, but complete nonsense that has confused the public!

What is it really about?

The law on special procedures for the construction of buildings within Expo Belgrade applies exclusively to projects in the Surčin municipality, where the Expo complex is being built. So, it has nothing to do with other buildings like the aquarium or the natural history museum in Ušće, as some have incorrectly claimed.

What does the law change?

The main goal of the law is to speed up procedural steps for obtaining building permits for the objects necessary for the realization of this major event. The law introduces minimal corrections to the usual way of adopting plans and shortens procedures but does not affect key segments of law application and fulfillment of all prescribed requirements.

Serbia is not alone in this!

The Ministry reminded that many countries, when organizing large events, make similar exceptions. For example, Kazakhstan did this for Expo 2017, and France for the Olympic Games. The Secretary-General of the International Bureau of Exhibitions, Dimitri Kerkentzes, confirmed this.

Everything is legal and safe!

All objects and works within the special purpose spatial plan have issued building permits and are fully compliant with all regulations, including water source issues. Also, the objects are subject to technical inspections confirming their safety for use.

Temporary pavilions and alienation of objects

The law stipulates that pavilions are of a temporary nature and must be removed after the event ends. Regarding the alienation of objects, the law does not provide any special exceptions – everything will be conducted according to existing laws.

A call for responsibility

The Ministry of Finance appeals to everyone not to make arbitrary and inaccurate assessments that could confuse public opinion. It is important to consider the law in its entirety and in the context of all its provisions.

Conclusion

So, next time you hear that the “lex specialis” applies to all construction projects in Belgrade or that laws are being broken because of Expo, remember this statement from the Ministry of Finance. The truth is that the law is aimed only at speeding up procedures for objects in Surčin, all in accordance with the law and international practices.

Now, dear readers, what do you think about these spins? Is this just another political trick or does someone really want to create chaos where there is none? Drop a comment, let’s see who’s for and who’s against such legal solutions!
