Puljak Smashes Military Service Myths: Drones, AI, and Modern Army, Not Outdated Rituals!

Imagine being told that military conscription today is a step back, while wars are now fought with drones and artificial intelligence! Marijana Puljak, a Center party MP, is not buying the outdated ideas of mandatory military service. In a fiery speech in Parliament, she made it clear: Croatia needs a modern, professional, and motivated army, not symbolic measures from the last century.

Puljak exposed how wars today are not fought with rifles but with drones worth a few thousand dollars that can destroy tanks worth two million! Wars have become a shadow game — disinformation, energy blackmail, cyberattacks, and political destabilization. While some wave flags and patriotism in Parliament, Puljak asks: Is true patriotism shouting “For the homeland, ready!” or fighting for a country where young people don’t flee?

Croatia has lost a million inhabitants in the last 30 years, 66 times more than those killed in the Homeland War. These are not just numbers — they are shattered dreams, empty villages, and closed schools. What does the state offer? Two months of military training with no job guarantees or meaningful plans. Puljak is clear: motivation is not built by force but by trust.

She calls for investments in helicopters for rescue, systems to monitor cyber threats, and a real modern army that knows how to operate drones and respond quickly to crises. We don’t need an army as a political slogan backdrop but a real force protecting all citizens.

While patriotism is debated in Parliament, Puljak reminds us that true love for the homeland is a fight for justice, truth, and a better future. What about you? Are you for going back to the past or for a modern Croatia? If you have thoughts, share them — maybe you have the solution to stop the youth exodus and bring hope back to this country!
