German Companies Are Turning Their Backs on Musk’s Twitter Like It’s on Fire!
Did you know that a whopping 58% of German companies that used platform X (formerly Twitter) have now either stopped posting altogether or significantly reduced their activity? Only 32% are using the platform as before, while just 27% are currently active on X, down from 32% in October last year.
Skepticism Towards Elon Musk
The main reason for this mass exodus? Skepticism towards the platform’s owner, Elon Musk. A staggering 63% of surveyed German companies consider Musk dangerous, and 74% oppose the idea of a person with such influence running social networks that wield political power. Two-thirds of respondents reject the scenario where active executives of large companies hold political offices.
Advertising on Platform X Is Plummeting
Advertising? The situation is even worse! More than half (51%) of German companies are spending less or not advertising at all on X, compared to just 26% a year ago. Only 7% advertise at the same level as before Musk’s takeover, while 37% have completely stopped advertising on the platform.
Will Companies Pull Out Completely?
Despite the dissatisfaction, most companies do not plan a full withdrawal. Only 11% plan to delete their profiles this or next year, while 39% want to continue using X as they do now. However, 85% of companies demand stricter control over the platform, and 80% believe X accelerates societal divides. Only 21% think Musk strengthens freedom of expression.
What Bitkom Says
Bernhard Rohleder, CEO of Bitkom, says many companies distance themselves when one person combines enormous economic, political, and media power. Clearly, Musk has become a symbol of distrust and danger for many.
Conclusion
German companies are sending a clear message: Musk’s platform X is losing trust and advertisers. Will Musk manage to reverse the trend, or will X become a digital highway to ruin? Only time will tell.
What about you? Would you pull your advertising from X or stand by Musk till the end? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s for and who’s against! Remember, the internet never forgets — your tweets and your silence alike.
