The KotorArt festival and the Music Academy of Cetinje have once again proven to be a treasure trove of talent! At a concert held under the KotorArt Talents platform, the audience was treated to virtuoso performances by young accordionists, students of Professor Predrag Janković’s class. Young artists like Milena Drašković, Hristina Merdović, Igor Poturica, Lazar Janjušević, Dimitrije Knežević, and Marko Radivojišić performed works by great composers such as Tchaikovsky, Scarlatti, Voron, Ramo, Semjonov, and Glas Belmana.
This concert was not just an ordinary performance — it was a chamber music spectacle that highlighted the importance of giving young musicians a chance to shine on a big stage. Marko Radivojišić, one of the performers, emphasized how much of an honor and valuable experience it was to perform at KotorArt, especially in chamber music settings that require perfect connection among musicians.
Professor Janković expressed pride in his students, noting that they performed compositions from various eras and genres, from Baroque to contemporary music, including original pieces for accordion. The collaboration between the KotorArt festival and the Music Academy has lasted for years, as everyone believes young talents deserve more opportunities for public performances.
With support from the festival’s sponsors and Uniqa Insurance, a company recognized for its social responsibility and commitment to culture and education, this concert once again confirmed that Montenegro has exceptional musical talents just waiting for their chance to shine. If you missed this event, it’s time to ask yourself — where were your ears? And if you were there, you know it was a true musical feast! Who knows, the next big musician might be among these young accordionists. What do you think? Is the accordion an instrument of the future or just a nostalgic throwback? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s for and who’s against!
