Horror in Ulcinj: Aunt Forced Children to Beg and Abused Them!

Right in the heart of Montenegro, in Ulcinj, a horror story that will leave you breathless has unfolded! A 41-year-old woman, Z.K., has been arrested for brutally abusing and forcing her underage niece and a teenage boy to beg on the streets. Yes, you read that right – children were forced to collect money daily, and if they failed to meet the cruel demands, they were beaten, denied food and rest, and even forced to babysit her children!

According to police reports, the 16-year-old niece had been living with her aunt for the past five years. Every day, she was required to hand over at least 15 euros collected from begging. If she failed, Z.K. physically abused her and deprived her of basic needs. But that’s not all! A 15-year-old boy, not related to Z.K., was also forced to beg and was physically abused. In just two months, he handed over around 1,600 euros to the aunt!

This chilling story exposes the dark side of human trafficking in Montenegro. Last year alone, 16 criminal offenses related to human trafficking were recorded, and by July 1 this year, there were already 17! The police emphasize significant progress in identifying victims and prosecuting offenders, but the problem remains huge.

Z.K. has been arrested and will be brought before the state prosecutor, while the damage inflicted on the two minors is still being assessed. This story is a wake-up call for all of us – how many more children suffer such horrors in silence? How long will we keep turning a blind eye to this evil?

If you think this is far from us, think again. Human trafficking and child abuse are not just distant topics from movies or news from other countries. This is happening now, here, in our neighborhood. And while the number of reports is increasing, real protection and support for victims are still lagging behind.

So next time you think the world is fair, remember this story. And ask yourself – what can we do to protect the most vulnerable? And you, dear readers, what do you think about this monstrous case? Is justice served, or is this just the tip of the iceberg? Drop a comment, share your thoughts, or just say – did this story shock you as much as it shocked us?

Because if not us, then who? If not now, when?
