Czech Tourists Outraged by Wild Prices on Croatian Coast: Water Slippers at 20 Euros, Sunbeds Up 25%

Wild Price Hikes on Croatian Coast Have Czech Tourists Fuming!

Planning a summer getaway to Croatia? Brace yourself, because your wallet might just scream! The beloved Croatian coast, once a tourist paradise, has turned into a price shock zone, and the Czechs, long-time regular visitors, are not holding back their outrage.

Beer Prices Like a Fancy Club, Sunbeds Worth Their Weight in Gold! Makarska Riviera, a favorite among Czech tourists, now charges between €3.50 and €4.50 for a beer, with a rare “happy hour” deal dropping it to €2. But hold on, the real kicker is the sunbeds on the beach, which have surged by a whopping 25%, now costing a staggering €16! Yes, you read that right – €16 for a beach sunbed!

Water Park Entry? Only for the Wealthy! Entrance fees to nearby water parks have jumped to €15, up from last year. And water slippers? They’ve become a luxury item, priced at a shocking €20! Czech media are advising their tourists to bring their own from home to avoid getting fleeced.

Food and Drinks? Prepare for Sticker Shock! A scoop of ice cream costs €2.50, seafood risotto goes for €16 or €17, and an octopus salad will set you back €19. Espresso is around €2, while cocktails range from €3.50 to €10. In Split, one of the most popular destinations, prices are drastically higher than in other parts of Croatia. Half-liter beers near Diocletian’s Palace cost between €8 and €9, while further from the center, you can find them for €3.

Parking Nightmares Parking in central Split is a rip-off – at least €4.75 per hour, while on the outskirts, it can be three times cheaper. Czechs warn it’s smart to park further away and walk.

What Do Tourists Say? While many Czechs complain about the prices, some say they are similar to those in their home cities like Prague or Brno, and they manage by buying food from bakeries and avoiding pricey restaurants.

Bottom Line: Croatia – Either a Luxury Paradise or a Price Hell! The Croatian coast has become a place where tourists either splash the cash or find clever ways to survive. Price hikes are so steep that even water slippers cost as much as a decent meal in some countries. Is this the end of affordable holidays in Croatia? Czechs suggest it might be time to look elsewhere.

Have you been to the Croatian coast this year? Share your experience – were you shocked by the prices or did you master the art of saving? Or maybe you have a funny tip on how to survive a holiday without going broke? Drop a comment and let’s laugh or cry together over these prices!
