Here comes the drama of the year in Nis and its surroundings! Dry Mountain, famous for its drought, is back in the spotlight due to a water shortage. But don’t worry, Nis mayor Dragoslav Pavlović jumped in to help immediately. For two whole weeks, water was continuously delivered to Dry Mountain because the animals there couldn’t be left without water for even a second. Yes, you read that right — two weeks! And that’s not all: livestock farmers received two million dinars in incentive funds from the ministries of agriculture, forestry, and water management. The city of Nis is ready to provide logistical support for building artesian wells if a suitable company is found. Sounds like a heroic rescue story, right? But is this just the tip of the iceberg of Serbia’s water problems? Delivering water for two weeks straight? In the 21st century? Can we really be proud of such a “quick reaction”? Or is this just another example of pushing problems under the rug until they explode into a crisis? What do you think? Is this good organization or catastrophic mismanagement? Drop a comment and let’s see who’s on which side of this “water” politics!
