Attacks on Officials’ Homes in Novi Sad: Public Call for Lynch or Civic Protest?

Have you seen what’s happening in Novi Sad? The homes of government officials are under attack, and political analyst Stevica Deđanski doesn’t mince words – he calls it a public call for lynching! Yes, you read that right! Students and citizens are blocking the streets where the SNS president Miloš Vučević, mayor Žarko Mićin, university rector Dejan Madić, and provincial government president Maja Gojković live. Deđanski warns that the state must urgently react and sanction these attacks because people are experiencing physical persecution. If there’s no other way, physical protection must be provided!

But wait, there’s more! Miloš Vučević, SNS president and advisor to the president of the republic, claims that in 30 years of political life in Serbia, no one has attacked families or homes due to differing political views. He accuses opposition leaders Marinika Tepić and Bojan Pajtić of inciting angry citizens to go to SNS officials’ homes. Vučević says they were wiser and did not show up at these gatherings because the people despise violence.

In Novi Sad, protests peaked near the Futoška market, where citizens and students organized a protest march and a bike ride through parts of the city where officials live. Although they passed by the houses, they did not linger but clearly showed their dissatisfaction.

This situation is explosive! On one side, we have citizens who are clearly angry and ready to show their rebellion, and on the other, the government claiming it is all orchestrated and that violence is unacceptable. The state is called to react, but will it be enough? Or will the situation only escalate?

In any case, this is not an ordinary protest. This is a call for lynching, or at least that’s what some say. What do you think? Are these protests justified or crossing the line? Drop a comment, let’s see who’s on which side in this political soap opera!
