Textbook Law Passed: Serbia Takes Education Back Into Its Own Hands!

Serbia Takes Education Back Into Its Own Hands!

In July 2024, the Serbian government passed a law amending the Law on Textbooks, which Prime Minister Prof. Dr. Đuro Macut hailed as a historic decision. This change is not just bureaucratic paperwork but a true victory for knowledge and national responsibility. Serbia is decisively returning key school subjects to the hands of domestic authors and publishers, sending a clear message: our children will be educated according to our own values and standards, not foreign interests.

Why does this matter?

Prime Minister Macut emphasized that this law faced numerous obstructions and pressures from those whose interests lie with foreign centers of power and profit rather than the future of our children. But Serbia is standing firm! This decision is a civilizational message that we have the strength, will, and ability to independently shape our education and future.

Support from the top

Thanks to the support of President Aleksandar Vučić and former Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, who initiated this law, Serbia has shown unity in its determination to protect the national identity and knowledge of young generations. The Prime Minister stated that the education system will be built so that it is not subject to foreign influence but a foundation for a strong, smart, and free Serbia.

What does this mean for children and society?

Returning textbooks to domestic authors means that teaching will be tailored to our values and needs. It is a step towards preserving national identity, confidence, and knowledge that will shape future generations. No more foreign interests dictating what our children learn!

Is this the end of foreign influence?

Of course not. The Prime Minister clearly said the fight against pressures and obstructions will continue. But Serbia today is determined and stands tall. Knowledge and identity are our most valuable assets, and we will not give them up for anything.

Conclusion

This decision is more than a law — it is a message to everyone who thinks they can subjugate the youth of Serbia. They cannot! Serbia knows what it wants and knows how to choose itself. If you think this is just another political story, think again. This is a fight for the future of our children and our country.

So, what do you think? Is this the final end of foreign influence in education or just the start of a new battle? Drop a comment, share your thoughts, and remember — knowledge is power, and power is in our hands!
