Protest Against Illegal TV Niš and Media Harassment of Students

Tonight, a fierce protest took place in front of TV Niš, where citizens and students of Niš claimed that the television station was illegally opened and is used for targeted harassment of citizens. The protest was sparked by sensationalist reports from TV Niš about students, including the publication of private messages from the Viber group Solidarna pomoć, alleging that students receive money from foreign agencies to block the city. The current director of TV Niš, a former SNS official turned opposition figure, reportedly founded the station after failing to secure votes in local elections. During the protest, an incident occurred involving the notorious provocateur Tomislav Lovrenković, who interfered with journalists, while protesters called the station “Informer Niš” and demanded the return of “ćacilend.” Students announced a new protest tomorrow at 4 PM. This entire event highlights deep divisions and media abuse in Niš, where private interests mix with political games, and citizens and students become victims of media lynching and illegal practices.
