Massive Water Outage in Železnik: Belgrade Faces Water Cut and Transport Chaos!

Belgrade is currently in chaos due to a massive water main break in the Železnik neighborhood. The public utility company, Belgrade Waterworks and Sewerage, announced an urgent repair of a water pipe several dozen millimeters in diameter at the corner of Lole Ribara and Radnih Akcija streets in the Čukarica municipality. As a result, residents of Železnik, Ostružnica, and Umka have been left without water, and city bus lines 55, 511, 512, 521, and 522 have had to change their routes.

The emergency repair is underway, with water expected to be restored by 6 PM. Priority consumers have been provided with water tankers supplying drinking water for essential needs.

This incident has caused major disruption in daily life, forcing citizens to cope without a basic utility service. The water company apologized for the interruption and asked for patience and understanding.

Additionally, traffic in the area has been further complicated as buses had to reroute, causing congestion and passenger frustration. Bus lines 71 and 603N will also operate on altered routes on July 31 due to sewer reconstruction works on Omladinskih Brigada street.

Overall, Belgrade is facing a series of municipal problems that are burdening its citizens. Is this just the start of summer breakdowns, or can we expect better management of city infrastructure?
