Drivers, brace yourselves for a road trip from hell! Montenegro is sizzling at a scorching 38 degrees Celsius, and the Auto-Moto Association (AMSCG) is not mincing words: avoid long trips during the hottest part of the day! Yes, you read that right — if you love roasting in your car, go ahead, but don’t complain when your vehicle turns into a sauna on wheels.
Unfortunately, the heat isn’t the only problem. On the regional road Đurđevića Tara near Mojkovac, at the Sokolovina spot, traffic is completely halted due to rockfalls. Nature is sending a warning, and you better prepare for waiting and frustration. And that’s not all — reconstruction of road R29 near Bar and the Kamenički bridge in Krute brings traffic stoppages between 8 AM and 4 PM. If you planned to travel that way, better rethink your plans or arm yourself with patience.
Main roads M2 and M3 are also under construction. Traffic runs on a single lane alternately, with occasional stops not exceeding 30 minutes. But who likes waiting in traffic jams, right? Vojsavljevića street in Podgorica is closed due to boulevard construction, so drivers will have to use alternative routes. Also, on road M6 between Pljevlja and Đurđevića Tara, traffic regime has changed from two-way to one-way in work zones. And on the Šavnik-Žabljak section, traffic will be intermittently changed from 7 AM to 5 PM due to landslide repairs.
AMSCG urges maximum caution and adherence to traffic rules. The heat is dangerous not only for drivers and vehicles, but these works and stoppages can cause chaos on the roads. If you thought driving in Montenegro was easy, think again.
And if you thought that’s all, think again! Warnings also come due to high temperatures that can affect driving safety. So, if you plan a trip, avoid the hottest part of the day and prepare for possible delays.
Finally, if you’re already stuck in a jam or roasting in your car, feel free to share your frustrations in the comments. Who knows, maybe together we’ll figure out how to survive this traffic and weather madness!
