Panel Discussion on Chapter 10: Information Society and Media

A panel discussion on Chapter 10 of Montenegro’s EU accession negotiations, focused on the information society and media, was held in Podgorica. The discussion addressed challenges of digital transition including digital space regulation, combating disinformation, use of artificial intelligence, and cybersecurity. Participants emphasized the importance of digital literacy, alignment with European legislation, and effective implementation of rules. The need for coordination among state institutions and raising citizens’ awareness of digital rights was highlighted. Weaknesses in the digital transformation of the economy and the need to strengthen digital competencies from early education stages were also noted. The discussion was part of the 28do28 campaign aimed at bringing the benefits of EU membership closer to citizens.
